Montenegro – Safe Travels

Dear tourists,

Thank you for choosing Montenegro as your holiday destination!

In order to make your stay in our country as pleasant as possible and so as to protect your health, we have decided to become part of the global Safe Travels initiative.

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), which represents the global Travel & Tourism private sector, has granted Montenegro the international ‘Safe Travels’ stamp. It’s a specially designed stamp which enables travellers to identify destinations and businesses around the world that have adopted international global standardised health and hygiene protocols as an important prerequisite for safe travel.

The National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, the coordinator of this initiative in Montenegro, attaches great importance to travellers’ health and safety. Accordingly, the recipients of the Safe Travels stamp pay attention to every detail in order to provide you with high-quality service. Because we take your health seriously, we have set up a Safe Travels committee, which carefully evaluates and subsequently oversees the implementation of health and safety protocols. For your safety, Safe Travels stamp recipients take great care of the health of tourists by: taking care of employees’ health, providing disinfectants in busy areas, enabling physical distancing, making sure that everyone wears masks, ensuring frequent cleaning and disinfection of surfaces, but also by implementing a number of other measures and recommendations.

Whether you are visiting Montenegro on your own or via travel agents who take care of your safety by complying with health and hygiene protocols, feel safe while staying in Montenegrin hotels and private accommodation, visiting museums, eating out in restaurants and enjoying traditional food and Montenegrin hospitality, relaxing at a spa, or going on a day trip with providers who follow safety standards, either on the road or in local boats.

We want you to know that your safety and trust are our number one priority. See the list of recipients of the Safe Travels stamp here.
