Bild, one of Germany’s biggest newspapers, has published an article on Montenegro, describing it as a small Adriatic country that gives hope for a summer holiday this year, pointing out that Montenegro will be ready to welcome visitors once travelling has been deemed safe.
Marc Oliver Rühle, the author of the article, explains why Montenegro should be on the list of German tourists as a destination for their next trip, given that they take their health and safety seriously.
Bild points out that Montenegro is a country with a small number of confirmed coronavirus cases, adding that the authorities are currently developing guidelines for health protocols in hospitality establishments, which are set to be applied on the spot for the health and safety of citizens and visitors.
“In these times of high uncertainty due to the COVID-19 epidemic – according to analyses of health experts from around the world – Montenegro is one of the countries that have achieved good results in containing the virus precisely because it reacted quickly,” said Željka Radak Kukavičić, director of the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro.
“Despite the travel ban, the small Adriatic country now gives us hope for a summer vacation in the south: according to information shared exclusively with Bild, Montenegro is about to fully launching its tourist infrastructure and will be ready to welcome visitors,” the article says.
It further states that most shops in Montenegro will open from 4 May, while hotels and restaurants could open their doors as early as 18 May. Also, one of the key protective measures will be the mandatory mask-wearing in all indoor public spaces.
Bild notes that Montenegro, which saw record visitor numbers in 2019, is a trendy destination for Germans, adding that in 2019 it recorded a 82% increase in tourist arrivals from the German market.
