The National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro is showcasing its tourism products at the largest trade fair for events and incentive travel in Frankfurt. According to the 2019 Destination Report by PRO SKY, a German international corporation specialising in MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) destination evaluation, Montenegro was voted among the top 8 MICE destinations for 2019. The evaluation was made by 450 convention industry professionals from all around Europe. Interest in Montenegro with regard to this tourism segment is growing continuously. Based on the events organised and contracted so far, an increase of at least 10% is expected by the end of the year compared to the previous year. During the three days of this fair, over a hundred meetings were held at Montenegro’s stand with event management companies from the source markets of Germany, Russia, Poland, UK, France, United States, and many more. The meetings were used to showcase the offering and opportunities for organising events in Montenegro. IMEX, one of Europe’s most important European fairs for incentive travel, meetings and events, was held between 21 and 23 May 2019 in Frankfurt. The fair brought together about 14,000 business visitors, including 3,500 exhibitors from 160 countries. Most of the interested hosted buyers at this fair came from Germany, the United States, the UK, France, Russia, and Scandinavian countries. At the Montenegrin stand, tourism products were presented by the local tourism organisation of Budva, Montenegro Stars Hotel Group, Avala Resort & Villas, Lazure Hotel & Marina, The Chedi Luštica Bay, as well as by travel agencies such as Montenegro Tourist Service, Explorer, and Montenegro in Style.
