Tripković Marković: "Over 4.2 million Germans are interested in visiting Montenegro in the next three years"

The National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro (NTO CG) organized panel discussions and a business workshop as part of the DRV fvw Destination Forum, aiming to exchange experiences in tourism and network German tour operators and media with Montenegro's tourism industry.

This event brought together over 60 representatives of key decision-makers in the German tourism industry, including tour operators and travel agencies.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between Germany and Montenegro in the tourism sector. According to him, Montenegro has made significant efforts over the past seven months to enhance its offerings and is rapidly working on the process of joining the European Union, which will contribute to better positioning Montenegro as an attractive destination for European tourists.

The Director of the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro (NTO CG), Ph.D. Ana Tripković Marković, highlighted the significant potential of the German market for Montenegrin tourism.

"Research data from ReiseAnalyse show that as many as 4.2 million Germans are interested in visiting Montenegro in the next three years. It is important to note that these are guests with above-average spending power. Although we face strong competition from other tourist destinations, Montenegro's uniqueness lies in the interest these tourists have in the destination itself, its nature, and its culture. Nearly 60% of potential tourists from Germany prefer to book package deals, which is above average and higher compared to tourists interested in Croatia and Greece. This provides us an excellent basis for even closer cooperation with German tour operators, precisely why we organized this destination forum," said Tripković Marković.

Among the attendees were numerous high-ranking officials, including the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Northern Development, Vuk Žižić.

The event featured three panels focused on different aspects of tourism. The first panel was dedicated to exchanging opinions and experiences among tour operators, the second panel on connectivity included representatives from airlines, and the third panel focused on direct feedback from five groups of tour operators who toured the destination. The panel participants included representatives of German tour operators: Chamäleon Reisen, DERTouristik, AER Manufaktur, representatives of Lufthansa City Centre, the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, the travel agency Gulliver Montenegro, Airports of Montenegro, and the national airline Air Montenegro.
