The Residency Program is designed as a carefully planned month-long stay and work experience in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special focus on rural tourism. Participants will primarily stay with local tourism operators in rural areas and use their services, following a program that combines work, local experiences, nature, and community engagement.
Program Goals and the STAR Project
The STAR project aims to support sustainable tourism development and create the conditions for attracting digital nomads as a new target group in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through the project’s activities, local tourism operators’ capacities to host digital nomads are strengthened, a cross-border tourism product for digital nomads is developed, and public awareness—as well as that of digital nomads—about the potential of our countries as attractive destinations for this type of tourism is increased.
What Participants Can Expect
The program is content-rich and involves frequent travel across both countries. During the month, participants will stay at multiple locations and visit numerous destinations in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the program plan, participants will travel through Podgorica, Mojkovac, Kolašin, Šavnik, Žabljak, Plužine, Nikšić, Herceg Novi, Kotor, and in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Ravno, Stolac, Čapljina (Hutovo Blato), Ljubuški, Mostar, and Grude.
