Do you know?

What is the origin of katuns?

Want to know what the primary livelihood of the people in the mountain regions of Montenegro is? Locals created katuns so they could care for their livestock, an integral part of both the Montenegrin economy and way of life. In the absence of available meadows for grazing, breeders relocated their animals to higher mountain regions, where they allowed their livestock to graze from May until the snow fell.
