Spectacular packraft in Montenegro

Do you have a packraft or inflatable kayak in your backpack?

Keep in mind that kayaking is only possible in April, May, and June, otherwise the water is too low or too fierce.

Skadar Lake's calm waters are ideal for kayaking

You will have the most beautiful experiences on Skadar Lake and along the Crnojevića River, which was once an important trade center in Montenegro. Species such as the rare Dalmatian pelican can be seen on Skadar Lake, an area of international importance for birds.

The lake's calm waters are ideal for beginners, but it also provides plenty of challenges for experienced rowers. On the lake, there are many households and restaurants serving national cuisine and local fish specialties.

More popular kayaking spots

If you happen to be in Podgorica, you can go kayaking on the calmer rivers Morača and Cijevna. Piva Lake, in the municipality of Plužine, can be the setting for more thrilling adventures.

Kayakers frequently choose the challenging rivers Tara, Piva, Lim, and Komarnica as their destinations. Explore the river's beaches, backwaters, caves, and wildlife. Enjoy each paddle, the water's defiance, the effort of the body, and the scent of nature. This is an excellent way to connect with nature and learn about the world around you!

The famous Kayak Fest on Tara
