Kotor named among 12 most beautiful European under-the-radar destinations

UK travel blog Global Grasshopper has named Kotor among the 12 most beautiful under-the-radar destinations in Europe.

“The stunning medieval town of Kotor nestles in the dramatic landscape of mountains and sea on the Gulf of Kotor. Fortified in the middle ages the city has been mentioned as far back as 168 BC and visitors can see evidence of the full history of the town in its excellently preserved architecture reflecting all of its fascinating eras from ancient Rome to WW2. Take time to wander the cobbled streets and admire the breathtaking views from the city walls which are spectacularly illuminated at night. The city has many museums and galleries to visit as well as a vibrant nightlife and easy access to the natural wonders that surround it,” the blog says.

Featuring on the list alongside Kotor are Isola la Maddalena in Italy, the picturesque village of Coverack in England, the charming town of Le Grau du Roi in France, Trogir in neighbouring Croatia, Gdansk in Poland, the protected area of Ria Formosa in Portugal, Lake Königssee in Germany, the little known Belgian town of Dinant, etc.

Global Grasshopper is an award-winning travel blog run by eight travel writers. Last year, the blog was named among the top 25 Influencers in the UK.
