InteGRATEd actions to promote sustainable ToURist development

General objective of this project is to increase international competitiveness of targeted tourist destinations, through the sharing of a new integrated system for the sustainable management of tourist product; this system will be based on the improvement of the quality of market-oriented tourist packages, and particularly, on the emphasizing, protection and development of natural, rural and cultural resources.

Specific objectives are to:

• trans-border network for developing and improving territorial cooperation;
• trans-border permanent governance system of environmental, cultural and rural resources;
• shared tourist system, by qualifying and improving tourist services on target territories;
• promote a continuous process to improve quality in tourism, in terms of offer (public services, receptivity, tour operators, local resources, public image) and demand (marketing and communication systems); 
• enhance territories and their local tour operators, favouring the aggregation of public and private sectors;
• improve and protect typical productions (agro-food and handmade) and cultural heritage (artistic, archaeological and rural) and promote distinguishing values of territories; 
• promote sustainable tourism with the creation of new common tourist products, following principles of territorial marketing;
• develop and promote cultural vivacity and the valorisation of historical centres in partner countries;
• differentiate tourist offer (less seasonal tourism; improvement of minor cultural goods).
