Welcome
Exceptional tourism potential reflected in numerous cultural, historical and natural potentials, as well as its geographical position, make Nikšić suitable for development of different types of tourism, such as: transit tourism, excursions, sports and recreational tourism, congress tourism, etc.
Geographic and climate conditions (it has three rivers, three artificial lakes with a total area of 15 square kilometres, surrounded by mountains of up to 2,000 m above the sea level) provide conditions for organising water and winter sports. It is rare to have such regions where during the year one can enjoy sport fishing, game hunting and winter sports, including Nordic and Alpine disciplines.
We recommend a visit to King Nikola’s Palace; the town fortress-walls; the Carev Most bridge – built with the support of the Russian Tsar Alexander III, after whom it was named; the Moštanica Bridge, one of the oldest Roman bridges in Montenegro, Vukov Most and Gordin Most bridges; the Cathedral of St. Vasilije of Ostrog; St. Luke's Monastery; the Church of the Archangel Michael. In the vicinity of Nikšić there is the archaeological site Crvena Stijena from prehistoric times.
