The Agency for Civil Aviation approved the Italian “Alitalia” to operate the flight Rome-Podgorica and vice versa in the following summer and winter season – radio Antena M reports.

First flight is scheduled for 29th April, and it will operate three times a week, that is on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The number of international arrivals increased by 4% in 2012 and reached 1,035 billion according to the latest Issue of the Barometer of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Further growth is also expected in 2013 but with a bit slower pace – between 3-4%. For the first time in history the number of international travels has exceeded the figure of 1 billion.

In the first 8 months of 2012, 1.153.256 tourists visited Montenegro, which is 4.6 per cent more compared to the same period last year. The tourists had 7.665.769 overnight stays, 4 per cent more than in the first 8 months of 2011.
