Montenegro partner of the tourism fair “Travel Turkey”
Montenegro was a partner country of the International Tourism Fair “Travel Turkey 2012“ which was held in Izmir - the “pearl of the Aegean sea ” from 6th December – 9th December 2012. The National Tourism Organization and the Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development presented an integral tourist offer of Montenegro to tour operators, agencies, Turkish and international investors and representatives of the important domestic and international media together with the Tourism Organization of the city Bar which is Izmir’s twinned.
Ambassador of Montenegro in Turkey, Ramo Bralić, pointed out today in his interview for the Turkish national television “TRT” and “Yeni Asir” during the official opening of the Fair good friendly relations of Montenegro and Turkey which had contributed to good business relations between the two countries and the increasing interest of the citizens of Turkey for the tourist offer of Montenegro. The number of tourists from this market has been increasing in the last two years and it has reached the number of 15,000. Turkish economy is among the 15 strongest economies in the world and thus also potentially a significant partner in tourism industry. Ambassador also pointed out the interest of the investors to invest in our country. Apart from “Gintas”, hotel “Ramada” and “Toshcelik”, new investments in Montenegro are expected.
In his welcome speech Ertuğrul Günay, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey expressed his satisfaction with the fact the Montenegro was a partner country of the Izmir Fair this year. Ambassador of Montenegro in the Republic of Turkey, Ramo Bralić, also greeted all the participants and visitors as well as the President of the Turkish Tourist Association TURSAB Başaran Ulusoy, Governor of Izmir and Director of Marketing and Sale of Turkish Airlines. Last year, NTO Montenegro organized a visit of representatives of TURSAB and important media from Turkey and this is when partnership with the Fair was agreed.
Folklore ensemble “Budo Tomović” from Podgorica performed at the end of the Fair and presented the national dance of Montenegro which the audience liked very much. On the first day of our visit all the most influential media reported about our country: “Dogan haber“, “Ih las haben“, “Anadolu“ informative agencies, then the national channel “TRT“, “TV Yeni Asir“, “Ege TV“, “Sky TV“, “World Channel“, “Kanal Turk“, “Haber Turk TV“, “Teni Asir TV“, dailies and a large number of specialized tourist magazines. In her interview, Ljiljana Čukić, Manager for the Turkish market in the NTO Montenegro, presented specificities of tourism offer of Montenegro. At the Fair the possibility of filming parts of some of the very popular Turkish serials in Montenegro were also discussed for which NTO Montenegro offered a logistic support.
Representatives of NTO and TO Bar will have numerous business meetings during the Fair with representatives of Turkish tour operators and tourist agencies.
The “Travel Turkey” Fair, which was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey was a business-oriented event and thus special business meetings, the so called “Hosted Buyers” programs were organized, intended for the decision-makers and their entering into big contracts for the emissive and receptive destinations. This year, the Fair gathered almost 16,000 professionals where about 600 exhibitors presented tourist offers of different destinations and leading tourist companies from 30 countries.
