The story began in the fall of 2003. On October 14th, Marko Stojović entered the premises of a local radio station in Podgorica, and began airing some tunes. The set would last two hours. The encapsulated in his booth-Marko, would instantly arrest the imagination of those feeling the need of a radical musical migration from a mediocre uniformity of ever so popular radio stations. The show emulated a unique perspective on modern musical twists and turns and it would incorporate genres such as broken beat, house, hip-hop, modern funk, soul and jazz.
Later on, in the summer of 2007, Marko welcomed another hi-fi enthusiast in his booth, the last of the Slavs ever to bear the nostalgic name of Yugoslav Starovlah, a.k.a. MrGoju, who ceased this opportunity to express his own sonic understanding of today’s affairs, and after Marko decided to retire from the show entirely, MrGoju took over, moving on his own and keeping up with a busy managing and marketing schedule, however, never disregarding the essence of that which brought this radio show to life. Since it was first aired on October 14th, 2003, Migrations Radio Show have gained international following, establishing relations with various radio stations, new labels and fans worldwide.
Now, 10 years down the tracks, Migrations Radio Show is releasing its “10 Year Anniversary Compilation”, a selection of some of the MrGoju’s faves in the industry.
Needles to say our migrations continue, and our next stop is the one we go back to over and over-Soul II Soul, Podgorica, Montenegro, the club that has always generously supported us and shared our vision of an acoustic journey. This is a unique opportunity to invite our followers and life-long supporters to a live show, where we will play some soulful birthday tunes and handout some recorded audios of our show! Hope we’ll meet you there!
