The International Competition of Montenegro in the sprint triathlon will be held in Tivat on the 15th June – “II Boka Triathlon” at 11:00a.m. After the last year’s premiere competition which was extremely successful even among the triathlon circles in the region and wider, this is a new opportunity for those who are ready for challenges and who want to try this increasingly popular and attractive Olympic sport.
Disciplines on the agenda are:
- Sprint triathlon individually (swimming 750 m, bicycle 20 km, running 5 km)
- Sprint triathlon relay race (2 or 3 members for every section)
- Aquathlon (200 meters of swimming, 800 meters of running), for the young ones from 8 to 16 years of age and other interested citizens.
Organizer of this competition is the Triathlon Club “Tivat”.
Three months before the competition about 40 competitors from 7 countries applied, from top notch professionals to ordinary sportive enthusiasts and particular curiosity is the fact that best triathlon competitors from the region are expected to come: the last year’s winner and the Olympic Games participants Ognjen Stojanović from Serbia, Matija Lukina from Croatia and Matija Meden from Slovenia. As for women the absolute favorite is the Olympic competitor, a 19-year-old Sara Vilić from Croatia which is competing for Austria.
