The “Peaks of the Balkans” Trail, a long-distance hike between Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo, is one of the last hiking adventures in Europe. This transnational trail leads192 km through one of the most remote and wild mountainous regions of the Western Balkans.
Following shepherd paths and footways, the “Peaks of the Balkans” trail winds through high alpine mountains up to 2,300 metres above sea level and down through green valleys and picturesque mountain villages, in which time seems to have stopped. This region had been almost inaccessible for visitors for many years and could remain its cultural authenticity.
